Such a charming spot! The atmosphere is warm and inviting — it truly feels like you’ve stepped into a cozy Parisian café ???????? The coffee is absolutely delicious, the croissants are flaky and buttery perfection, and the decor is so cute and thoughtfully done. Whether you’re meeting a friend, getting work done, or just treating yourself, this place is a total gem. Highly recommend!

This is an easy five star. I loved the blue and white theme, it’s such a great vibe. As soon as you enter the shop, you are blown away by how good the pastries look. I tired the chocolate almond croissant and it was yum. For entree, i had the breakfast bowl. While it was good overall, it had way too many potatoes as the base. I cant complain though as the staff had warned me about it while ordering. My chai latte was awesome.

I was so excited to try this once it opened and it did not disappoint. We had a couple pastries, the honey, lavender latte, Caitlin's, breakfast, burrito and the Maman's bowl, all were delicious! Definitely recommend. It's usually always busy and tables aren't easily available but worth it!

I visited Maman for the first time recently in search of a cute bakery/cafe within the Mosaic District and this is exactly what I was looking for! I ordered a few items, and most were fresh and delicious. The atmosphere of the cafe is very cute, and quite sophisticated from the outside. The only concern was while service was friendly and definitely attentive, our server came to our table about 2-3 times within the short time that we were there (30-45 mins max), and kept asking us if everything was okay, if we needed anything or if she could clear some items from the table; this while if it was a first attempt would have been a nice gesture from staff, but it seemed rather excessive and almost to the point where we felt rushed or as if they wanted us to hurry up, eat and leave when they mentioned it wasn't the case. Overall a good experience in a great shopping plaza, just hope if I do visit again, I won't face the same issue, as it did seem odd/uninviting. Thanks! :)

We came here this morning with four friends, and it was such a great experience! The place has a really nice atmosphere, and the service was excellent. Our waitress, Fabiola, was amazing — super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We actually traveled quite a distance just to visit this café, and it was absolutely worth it. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food, great coffee, and even better service!

After a nearby lunch, we visited for coffee and dessert and had a mixed experience. I was hoping to enjoy the same quality I've come to expect from other Maman cafes in DC, but found it to be a bit underwhelming this time. The food was decent, but the lattes seemed somewhat watered down, and while the pastries had a lovely appearance, they were drier than anticipated. The space had the charming decor typical of Maman locations, complete with artificial trees and flowers, but it felt a bit small and crowded during my visit. Although many staff members were present, it took some time for the tables to be cleaned. I look forward to returning during a less busy time to explore other menu items and hopefully have a better experience. Update: July 20, 2025 We visited for breakfast this morning, and I can confidently say this cafe becomes packed right after opening, a testament to its popularity. The breakfast was fantastic, and the pastries and coffee were exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food we tried was outstanding. Maman’s Breakfast Sandwich was small yet satisfying and flavorful, featuring avocado, roasted tomatoes, caramelized onions, bacon, and a sunny egg on a brioche bun. Anna’s Belgian Waffles were delightful, with a gooey texture reminiscent of Kouign Maman—rich and sweet, complemented by guava jam, fresh-cut strawberries, and served with maple syrup and salted whipped butter. The Kouign Maman was perfect, showcasing buttery layers with just the right sweetness, and the nutty chocolate chip cookie was spot on. We are thrilled that the food was fresh and delicious, so I’m confidently updating my previous rating to 5 stars.

The hiring team deserves every award – every single person here is warm, kind, and makes you feel like family. That love pours straight into the food and drinks. Today’s lunch: • Evan’s Soupe du Jardin + grilled cheese → the ultimate cozy combo. Velvety garden vegetable soup with that stunning herb oil swirl, paired with the crispiest, gooiest grilled cheese ever. Huge portion – easily shareable for two if you’re on a budget (but so good you might not want to). • Martha Stewart’s spiced caramel apple cider → fall in a cup. Warm, perfectly spiced, with just the right kiss of caramel. I’m obsessed. Beautiful plates, cozy vibes, food and drinks made with so much heart. Maman, you win forever

The true stars here are the pastries. Croissants are flaky and buttery, baked to perfection, with highlights like the chocolate almond croissant shining through as a must-try. Each bite evokes a sense of French bakery authenticity, complemented perfectly by the rich, aromatic coffee options. The honey lavender latte stands out — floral notes layered over creamy espresso create a taste experience both comforting and unique.

maman - Fairfax also brings creativity to savory dishes. Breakfast offerings such as the breakfast bowl and burrito deliver flavorful variety, though some have noted a hearty portion of potatoes in certain plates. Regardless, each dish maintains a thoughtful balance, showing that maman prioritizes quality and freshness.

The service adds to the overall charm, with attentive staff like Fabiola making guests feel truly welcome. While there have been occasional remarks about the pacing of service, the genuine friendly energy and dedication to customer care shine through.
